Dr. Igor Chernyavskiy
Dr. Chernyavskiy graduated
from Krasnoyarsk Medical
School in Krasnoyarsk,
Russia in 1987. He joined
Stony Brook University
Medical Center and
Department of Veterans
Affairs Medical Center at
Northport as a faculty
member in 2002. Currently he
balances his time between
treating patients and
teaching residents and
fellows at Stony Brook
University Hospital and
running an extensive private
practice in Pulmonary and
Sleep Medicine in Brooklyn.
Dr. Chernyavskiy is
board-certified in internal
medicine, critical care,
pulmonary medicine and sleep
medicine. He is a member of
the American Medical
Association, American
Thoracic Society, and
Diplomate of American
Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Chernyavskiy’s
scientific work has been
published in respected,
peer-reviewed medical
journals. He has specific
research interest in COPD,
interstitial pulmonary
diseases, and sleep
disordered breathing
problems.
Dr. Jay Enden
As Southside Hospital’s
Medical Director, Dr. Enden
oversees medical affairs as
well as the delivery of
patient care and safety
issues. Board-certified in
pulmonary medicine and
critical care, he was
previously Associate
Director of Medicine at
Southside Hospital and
served as President of the
medical staff. Prior to
that, Dr. Enden was a sleep
physician at Good Samaritan
Hospital Sleep Center, West
Islip, N.Y., and
co-director, Pulmonary
Medical Research of Long
Island, Bay Shore, N.Y.
Dr. Enden is a member of the
American College of
Physicians, American College
of Chest Physicians,
American College of
Physician Executives,
American Academy of Sleep
Medicine and Physicians for
a National Health Plan.
Dr. Enden received his
medical degree from the
State University of New York
(SUNY) at Stony Brook. He
completed his residency in
internal medicine at LIJ
Medical Center and a
fellowship
pulmonary/critical care,
Pulmonary Division,
Department of Medicine, and
Albert Einstein College of
Medicine. Dr. Enden also
earned a Master’s Degree in
Health Technology and
Management from SUNY Stony
Brook.
Dr. Lee Shangold
Dr. Shangold received his
undergraduate degree from
Rutgers University. He then
graduated from SUNY-Upstate
Medical School in Syracuse,
New York. He completed his
residency training in
Otolaryngology-Head and Neck
Surgery at Mount Sinai
Medical Center in New York
City, and became
board-certified in 1992.
Dr. Shangold is an attending
physician at St. Charles
Hospital and John T. Mather
Memorial Hospital, treating
all aspects of
Otolaryngology-Head and Neck
Surgery. His areas of
special interest include
pediatrics, sleep medicine
and allergy.
Dr. Shangold is a
board-certified sleep
physician and a Diplomate of
the American Academy of
Sleep Medicine.
